Composing the Condolence Comment

I am definitely not a 300 character or less conversationalist.  It is entirely unnatural and uncomfortable for me to try to leave behind such a strategically trimmed version of a thought, perhaps something to do with a natural concern and care for how my own words are absorbed and interpreted…if at all.

However, on this eve of the passing of another legendary American artist, it crossed my mind that the condolence comment can be of the greatest struggle for even the more proficient with such a skill.

For example, does the “my heartfelt condolences” fit the bill for you or is it a tad plain for your taste?  What about being “filled with sadness” and sensing a “great loss”?

Therefore, it is with my own moment of sadness as a long-time fan of this artist’s music that I decided to quick pour out this list of possible options to pass along a message of condolence – regardless of the medium the message is delivered and shared.  One does not always need to post a message of sorrow online and yet sometimes online messages act like virtual messages in bottles able to transcend the narrower boundaries paper and pen provide, let alone sharing a face to face moment of remembrance in honor of a life that has moved beyond their past physical existence.
